In Barbados
We've been here a few days now, and as you might expect, I've been so busy that is the first time I've had occasion to try blogging. (Still have to get used to that word). We've done a few tourist things like visit a rum factory and the earthworks pottery factory (those that know me, would realize that was a huge highlight!). The weather has been perfect, high 20's, low 30's. Lots of Caribbean sunshine and humidity, gentle ocean breezes, lots of bird & insect sounds in the background, and the smell and sights of the beautiful tropical flowers along with the beauty of the lush vegetation and Caribbean ocean. We are staying on a former plantation, called "Fustic House", located in St. Lucy. It's a rather large estate with manicured lawns, gardens, water features, etc. We are well looked after by the staff on site, we have a personal chef, butler and cleaning staff. So, yes I will definitely need a reality check once we return again to real life! In the meantime, we will enjoy each precious minute. Today I have arranged to go for a horseback ride. Hoping that this adventure takes me to the ocean ... nothing beats a gallop down the beach!
